The structure of the symposium will primarily be based on thematic sessions with contributions by participants in the form of oral presentations as well as panel discussions.
A final round-table session will discuss the main conclusions drawn in the thematic sessions and will summarise recommendations for future development.
The scope of the symposium is meant to cover, but is not limited to, the following topics:
• New challenges and technologies in gene-/genome editing
• Applications of CRISPR-technologies in important plants
• Improvement and utilisation in microbial and food biotechnology
• Socio-economic impacts and regulatory issues
